Hands in the Community

As part of our wider ‘Hands in the Community’ initiative, HW Humphreys has been taking part in a variety of activities to support local charities and organisations. This includes volunteering work and a corporate giving scheme.

Corporate Giving

Humphreys is dedicated to backing organisations throughout Wales in 2024. We focus on supporting community initiatives that protect the environment, enhance health and well-being, aid children and young people, address social deprivation and homelessness, and promote inclusion and diversity. In the past six months, we’ve had the privilege of supporting some incredible organisations.

One of our recent donations was to the charity 2Wish in Pontyclun, Cardiff. This organisation provides compassionate bereavement support for families who have lost a child or young adult. 

The heart-wrenching loss of a child or young adult is a devastating experience for any family and the team at 2Wish understand the profound impact such sudden and traumatic events have on those who knew and loved the individual. 

Humphreys donated over £1700 to help continue 2Wish’s essential ongoing support for families. For more information on how you can contribute or to make a donation, please visit the 2Wish website. 

Volunteering

Being part of Certas Energy, the staff at HW Humphreys also had the opportunity to use one working day a year to volunteer for a good cause. Over the year, many of the team have embraced this opportunity, contributing their time to support organisations both as teams and individually.

Some of the volunteer work across the UK included maintaining the gardens within the food poverty charity; Incredible Edible, specialist SEMH school Adelaide Health Academy and the Strathcarron Hospice Charity shop.
